Bio

My name is Jim Looby. I’m husband to Amy and father of two active boys, Ryan and Caleb.

I am pastor at First Baptist Church of Santo, Texas (about and hour west of Fort Worth), a position I have held since early 2012. We moved here after just over two years of pastoring Greens Creek Baptist Church (exactly halfway between Dublin and Stephenville, Texas). During this time I have completed a Master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Theological Studies.

While I have been involved with vocational ministry since 2009, I have been involved with various ministries throughout my adult life, including music, broadcast, media and teaching. I attended Howard Payne University, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, but more importantly, there I met my best friend and spouse, Amy.

Following graduation I worked in and managed a number of communications positions, including editing and reporting two daily newspapers in central Texas. I later had the privilege of teaching at Howard Payne and Tarleton State University (a Texas A&M System institution).

I love preaching and teaching with our fellow church members, spending time with our boys, and following a wide variety of interests, including history, politics, photography, entertainment and music composition.
